The overall purpose of this job is to provide high-quality support to the youth in the CCC Program in relation to improving the social, educational, and independent skills of the youth. To promote the well-being and safety of the youth in care.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the youth in care by managing their challenging behaviors and, where identified as part of their Positive Behavior Support Plan and where you have received appropriate training, engage in physical intervention when required.
  • Maintain records according to agreed procedures.
  • Promote the physical, social & emotional well-being of the youth in your care.
  • Ensure that the youth is safe and protected from harm through constant supervision
  • Support the youth in their personal and intimate care consistent with their individual needs and relevant policies.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with those involved with youth’s care.
  • Engage effectively with other staff to ensure a consistency of approach.
  • Support the youth in pursuing developmental and leisure opportunities.
  • Portray a positive, professional manner and helpful image of Key Assets and that the protection and complaints are managed in line with procedures.
  • Attend and participate in Team meetings.
  • Present a professional image of Key Assets at all times.
  • Engage in training(s).
  • Actively promote health and safety.
  • Attend supervision monthly.
  • Attend house meetings monthly.
  • Complete 30-minute bed check.
  • Work a minimum of one-weekday shift and one weekend shift (Saturday*/Sunday) per week.
  • Learn and follow health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Check Key Assets Email Account at minimum once each shift worked.
  • Transport youth to and from therapy, outings, and events when necessary. Use of a company vehicle will also be provided. Personal vehicles may only be used in an emergency.
  • Must be able to serve on-call shift for 24 hours once per month
  • Qualified Saturday shift will begin 12:00am or later Saturday

Additional Duties:

  • Attend training and development deemed necessary for this position.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety are observed in the course of employment.
  • Ensure compliance with Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedure in all employment.
  • May be required to assume other duties as may be requested by the Program Director that is commensurate with their level of responsibility and skills.
  • Comply with all Key Assets policies and procedures.

  • Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations
  • Proficient Interpersonal skills to include friendliness, a welcoming demeanor, professionalism, and cooperation
  • High level of focus on safety, adhering to all workplace and safety regulations and practices

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver’s License

Work Environment:

This job primarily operates in a group home setting caring for youth with disabilities. You will be working as a team with other TCSWs to care for the youth in the home. Must be able to travel to our three locations: Lexington, Nicholasville, or Georgetown. However, one primary location will be assigned. Use of a company vehicle will also be provided. The personal vehicle will only be used in an emergency.

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

The incumbent may be required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

This job demands the ability to pass and perform Safe Crisis Management at all times successfully.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk or hear. This jobā€™s specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
