Registered Behavior Technician
The overall purpose of this job is to implement and model behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs as indicated in Positive Behavior Support Plans under the guidance and supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Primary Activities:
- Attend and participate in scheduled individual and group supervision sessions.
- Meet the requirements to acquire certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and maintain an active status as outlined in the RBT Manual. Registered Behavior Technician Handbook (bacb.com)
- Adhere to the ethical code and standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) in the RBT Ethics Code and all other guidance provided by the BACB. RBT Ethics Code (2.0) (bacb.com)
- Ensure quality service by following recommendations and guidelines of BCBA.
- Perform job duties only within the scope of an RBT, referring emerging treatment and behavior issues to BCBA for appropriate assessment and recommendations.
- Demonstrate commitment to client-centered values including doing no harm, promoting client dignity, and honoring assent or withdrawal of assent for all skill-based treatment.
- Model behavior management and intervention that is based in positive reinforcement, avoiding the use of punishment procedures.
- Implement behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs as outlined in the youthās Positive Behavior Support Plans.
- Teach skills during natural opportunities occurring within the context of the youthās natural daily routine.
- Support the youth in care by managing their challenging behaviors and, where identified as part of their Positive Behavior Support Plan and where you have received appropriate training, engage in physical intervention when required.
- Maintain records according to agreed procedures.
- Collect and store behavioral data in the formats indicated by the BCBA.
- Promote the physical, social & emotional well-being of the youth in your care.
- Ensure that the youth is safe and protected from harm through constant supervision; youth are to be in sight, sound, and reach during all waking hours.
- Support the youth in their personal and intimate care consistent with their individual needs and skill acquisition goals while following all relevant policies.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with those involved with youth care.
- Engage effectively with other staff to ensure a consistent approach.
- Support the youth in pursuing developmental and leisure opportunities.
- Attend and participate in Team meetings.
- Work a minimum of one weekday shift and one-weekend shift (Saturday*/Sunday) per week.
- Always present a professional image of Key Assets.
- Actively promote health and safety by maintaining a clean environment and ensuring sharps and chemicals are locked at all times.
- Complete 30-minute bed checks.
- Learn and follow health and safety rules and procedures.
- Transport youth to and from therapy, school, doctorās appointments, outings, and events when necessary. Use of a company vehicle will also be provided. Personal vehicles may only be used in an emergency situation.
*Qualified Saturday shift will begin at 12:00am or later on Saturday

Additional Duties:

Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid Driverās License
- Must hold or be willing to pursue certification as a Registered Behavior Technician
*Applicants understand behavior technician job offers are conditional and contingent upon RBT certification. Continued employment in this role requires that the certification must be acquired within six months of the hiring date. An extension may be provided with the supervisor’s approval but is not guaranteed. Applicants that fail the RBT certification examination three times will not be eligible to retake the examination for a 12-month period per BACB standards, and therefore must transition to a new role given their inability to perform assigned job duties.
Work Environment:
This job primarily operates in a group home setting caring for youth with disabilities. You will be working as a team with Youth Care Workers who care for the youth in the home. Must be able to travel to our three locations: Lexington, Nicholasville or Georgetown. Registered Behavior Technicians may be required to work at a different location based on need. It is required that RBTs can travel to and work where needed.

The incumbent may be required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.Ā The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
This job demands the ability to successfully pass and perform Safe Crisis Management at all times.
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk or hear.Ā Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
